The Plant Enthusiast of San Luis Obispo

Home

Welcome to the plant enthusiast's web site! My name is Bryan and, yes, I am enthusiast when it comes to the plant kingdom. I have a little background education in horticulture, but I'm no expert by any means. An amatuer, possibly. I love to garden. I like to collect many different species and hybrids for my yard. I don't have any theme but diversity and experimentation. The more different plants I can incorporate, the better. I consider myself a geek when it comes to plants. I collect books on plants for my own reference. I love to visit nurseries. I like to take trips to see gardens or open spaces. I love to go hiking just to see what's blooming or what the season has to offer for the senses. I'm all for using native plants for regional gardens and landscapes. With plants, there is always something to learn. The label "plant enthusiast" suits me just fine. Feel free to wander around on my website and drop me a line on the contact page.

Landscapes with plants are ever-changing and are always full of surprises from the subtle to the outrageous.

There I am at Lotusland taking notes on plants. There he is, the plant enthusiast himself! This was taken by my travel companion at Lotusland a few years ago. I was writing down the names of the palm species that were being described by our gracious docent, whose elbow you can see on the right edge of the photo. SSSHHH! I might have a quiz later!
